DWIGHT LOKEN President, CMP
Dwight Loken has built for himself a name in the hospitality industry that is well-renowned. Dwight moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1971 to become the first full-time employee for the Office Education Association (now BPA). From 1979 to 1987, he served as a member of the International Board of Directors of Meeting Professionals International and was elected their International President for one year at the end of that span.
TARAH SMITH Meeting and Event Planner
Tarah Smith studied at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee and has worked at The Meeting Connection since 1999. She is industry-adept and has formed strong bonds with many hotel staff and personnel across the country. Her tasks involve creative design and implementation, event coordination, assistant meeting management, etc.
TREVOR LOKEN Systems Administrator and Lead Designer
Trevor Loken graduated in Information Systems from The Ohio State University in 2008 and has been with us since. Trevor is the creative and technical part of our operation as the lead graphic designer and systems engineer. He can handle a variety of pre-conference and on-site tasks, from audio-visual to aesthetics and more.
We make all the contacts for you and negotiate contracts personally.
We handle your specs, transportation, production, food and beverage, etc.
We market and manage your exhibits or trade shows.
We provide enough skilled staffing to coordinate the details.
We create brochures and programs and maintain your databases.

How We Put Information to Good Use
The Meeting Connection uses information about you for purposes of registering you for your particular meeting, event, conference or convention and/or for making hotel reservations for the hotel of your choice, as well as to ensure we: (i) bill you properly, (ii) administer your record in accordance with your agreements with your participating organization, and (iii) properly perform the services you have requested.
We also use the information we collect to direct important notices and information affecting your event and/or services, as well as to provide general information that may be of interest to you, including your participating organization's newsletters, surveys or announcements. Note that in order to fulfill our service obligations to you, we must continue sending you notices and other important information affecting your registration or housing record.
Getting to Know Our Clients and Participants
The Meeting Connection is in the business of accomplishing all preparation, on-site and material-based tasks for your organization's event. That requires more than simply offering a means of registering or reserving a hotel room. It also requires that we understand you, our client, and your needs. Indeed, we are the world's most personable and hands-on event consultants, because we take the time to get acquainted with and form long-lasting relationships with each one of our many clients and hotel and convention bureau personnel.
We get to know you primarily through the information you provide to us when signing up for your event. The information you provide ranges from basic contact information to payment information to service options you have selected. All of the information we request is obligatory unless otherwise noted on the relevant form. When you register or reserve a hotel room, you agree to provide accurate, complete and the most up-to-date information.
After you have signed up, we may be in communication with you about your particular event, your registration information, your hotel confirmation number and reservation options or any other matter relating to those services. Those communications are essential to our relationship with you and to the success of the conference.
The information we receive from or about you is stored on internally-developed systems designed to prevent the loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of that information. We also use Network Solutions SSL Security Certificates to encrypt your transmission of sensitive information (e.g., credit card numbers, account-holder name) in the interest of heightened privacy protection and information integrity. With Whom We May Share Information
When you register or reserve through The Meeting Connection, we must disclose your basic contact information and, if applicable, payment information to the appropriate registry/organization in order to complete your request. Certain registries require that we disclose to them the names, postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of individuals designated as the registrant or points of contact for your event. Similarly, each registry/organization may compile and maintain a password-protected database that includes basic information about each name registered for the event, including the names, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of individuals designated as the registrant or points of contact.
Our Accountability to You
Only those TMC employees that have a legitimate business purpose for accessing and handling personal information obtained by us are given authorization to do so. The unauthorized access or use of such information by a TMC employee is prohibited and constitutes grounds for disciplinary action.
Additionally, our information management systems are configured in such a way as to block or inhibit employees from accessing information that they have no authority to access.
The Accountability of The Meeting Connection's Temps and Business Partners
Our trusted temporary agents and business partners are responsible for processing or handling some of the information that we receive. These temps and business partners are not authorized to use such information for purposes beyond those specified by us and are required to preserve the confidentiality with which we treat such information.
